Ilala Lodge
Ilala Lodge Hotel is ideally situated on the Zimbabwean side of the mighty Zambezi River, where it is the closest hotel to the magnificent Victoria Falls.
The hotel offers distinguished accommodation in warm elegant surroundings. As befits a boutique hotel, the décor is classic, understated and evokes an era of early adventure and the quest for discovery in Africa. It is ideally situated being the closest to the mighty Victoria Falls as well as the town centre. The National Park borders the front of the property and wild animals often graze on the hotel lawns, with the spray of the falls in the background.
The Ilala Lodge is also famous for its fine dining Palm Restaurant, has been awarded Restaurant of the Year for 2011 & 2012 in Zimbabwe for the deluxe category. Here restaurant diners can see and hear the majestic roar of "the smoke that thunders" in the background and enjoy Zimbabwe's finest cuisine. Dining outside under the African night sky amidst the sound of the mighty waterfall makes for an unforgettable romantic evening. The hotel offers a lovely poolside bar as well, which serves ice-cold drinks and a variety of cocktails.
Facilities
The 5-Star Ilala Lodge has just 34 spacious rooms in total, including:
- 30 Standard Twin Rooms - each with two 3/4 beds in each.
- 2 Standard Double Rooms - each with one Kingsize bed in each.
- 2 Deluxe Suite Rooms - both situated on the upper level each with 1 Kingsize bed and 1 extra 3/4 bed for either an extra adult or a child.
All standard rooms at Ilala Lodge Hotel have two 3/4 beds in a spacious room that is decorated with railway teak furnishings. Each room has an en suite bathroom with complimentary soaps, shampoos and conditioners. The bathroom comes standard with a bath and separate shower. Standard in each room is an air conditioning unit that ensures guests have a cool retreat to relax in from the heat of the day an overhead fan if required. There are double French doors that open out to a communal garden where wild animals are often spotted. Bottled water is provided in each room as well as kettle with tea and coffee facilities. There is ample space provided in a built in closet as well as a safe to lock away personal valuables.
